Both front and rear door windows of your Seat Leon can be conveniently operated from the master control cluster on the driver's door. The individual passenger doors also feature a separate dedicated control switch for each respective window.
Always ensure that all power windows are closed completely whenever the vehicle is parked outside or left out of sight.
You can continue to operate the electric power windows for approximately 10 minutes after switching off the engine ignition, provided neither the driver's door nor the front passenger door has been opened and the ignition key has not been extracted from the slot (depending on your specific vehicle equipment package).
Safety switch
The safety control switch ››› Fig. 86 5 on the driver's door panel can be used instantly to disable the power window operation buttons on the rear passenger doors for safety.
Safety control unpressed: the window buttons on the rear doors are fully activated and functional.
Safety control pressed: the window switches on the rear doors are deactivated to prevent accidental use.

Convenience opening and closing
All power windows and the sunroof can be opened and closed from
the outside using the remote vehicle key fob:
Inside the central infotainment system, different operating preferences can be customized easily using the function button
>
Vehicle > Exterior > Windows > Convenience
opening.
Convenience opening:
- Press and hold the unlock button on your remote control key fob until all power windows and the panoramic sunroof have reached your desired open position.
Convenience closing:
- Press and hold the lock button on the remote control key fob until all windows and the sunroof are closed completely.
- OR: using the Keyless Access system (locking mode only): Press and hold your finger on the exterior locking touch sensor surface ››› Fig. 88 (arrow) of the door handle for several seconds to roll up the windows and shut the sunroof. If you lift your finger and stop touching the sensor surface, the convenience closing function is interrupted instantly.
Convenience locking always ensures that the side windows close first before the sliding panoramic sunroof seals shut.
One-touch opening and closing
The automatic one-touch raising and lowering feature fully opens and closes the windows automatically. It is not necessary to hold down the window switch continuously for this action.
To trigger the automatic window raising function: pull the switch for the corresponding window upwards past the first resistance point until it reaches the second click position.
To trigger the automatic window lowering function: push the switch for the corresponding window downwards past the first resistance point until it reaches the second click position.
To stop automatic window movement mid-way: briefly push or pull the switch of that specific window in the opposite direction.
Resetting the automatic raising/lowering function
If the main 12-volt vehicle battery has been disconnected or run flat while the side windows were not completely closed, the electronic power window automatic one-touch feature temporarily deactivates and must be re-calibrated and reset:
- Switch the engine ignition on.
- Ensure all side doors and windows are fully closed.
- Pull the switch for the corresponding window straight up and hold it in that pulled position for a few seconds.
- Release the button briefly, pull it straight up again, and hold it firmly in position once more. This completes the reset procedure for the automatic raising and lowering mechanism.
This reset function can be performed individually for a single window or consecutively for several windows at the same time.
WARNING Always observe the general safety warnings ››› in Introduction on page 110 of your manual.
- Improper or careless use of the power windows can result in severe crushing injuries.
- Never close the power windows carelessly or in an uncontrolled manner, because this could cause serious harm to yourself or passengers. Always verify that no person or object is obstructing the path of the moving windows.
- With the engine ignition switched on, onboard electrical systems such as the power windows remain active and can be operated, which can cause injury if misused.
- Vehicle doors can be locked securely with the remote control key from outside, which can severely complicate getting outside help in an emergency situation.
- Therefore, always take your vehicle key with you whenever you step out of your Seat Leon.
- The power windows are only disabled completely when the ignition is switched off and one of the front passenger doors is opened.
- If traveling with children, always deactivate the rear power windows using the dedicated driver door safety switch. Make sure by testing that they have actually been disabled.
- For optimal safety reasons, you should only unlock and lock your Seat Leon using the remote control key when you are standing within close visual range of the vehicle. When pressing and holding the lock button for convenience closing, always monitor the movement of the glass windows carefully to avoid accidents. Releasing the fob button immediately halts the closing process.
Note If a window encounters resistance and is unable to close smoothly because it is stiff, cold, or blocked by an obstruction, the safety pinch-protection mechanism will cause the window to automatically reverse and open back down. In this event, check and clear whatever prevented the window from closing before attempting to operate it again.
Window anti-trap function
The integrated power window anti-trap roll-back function significantly reduces the risk of accidental injury or crushing when the side windows close on your Seat Leon.
If a side window encounters any physical resistance, stiffness, or an unexpected obstacle while moving upward into the closed position, it will automatically reverse and reopen immediately.
- Inspect the window channel and frame to check why the window did not close fully.
- Try closing the power window again.
- If the closing movement is interrupted repeatedly due to friction or a tight seal, the anti-trap safety function will temporarily pause its sensitivity for a few seconds.
- If the window still fails to close completely, it will stop at its current position. Pulling up and holding the window switch button again within a few seconds forces the window to close manually without the active anti-trap protection.
Closing the windows without the anti-trap function
- Try to close the window once more by pulling straight up on the
switch button and holding it continuously without releasing it within a few seconds.
The safety anti-trap function will be temporarily deactivated for this cycle!
- If the emergency forced closing process takes longer than a few seconds, the protective anti-trap function will automatically be activated again by the control unit. The window will stop immediately if it encounters any resistance or obstruction, and will reverse and reopen automatically.
- If the power window still refuses to close properly after these steps, visit a specialised workshop or service center promptly for professional inspection.
WARNING Always observe the general safety warnings ››› found in the section "Opening and closing the windows" on page 118.
- The pinch protection roll-back safety function does not completely prevent fingers, loose clothing, or other parts of the body from getting pinched against the upper window frame during operation. Severe risk of accidents and injury!
Note The window anti-trap safety function remains fully active and operational even when the side windows are closed remotely from outside using the convenience function with the vehicle key fob.
