Seat Leon >> Troubleshooting
The control lamp remains on
The red LED diode indicator on the driver's door flashes at short intervals and then stays illuminated continuously. This behavior indicates that there is an electrical or mechanical fault present in the central locking system of your Seat Leon.
- Contact a specialised workshop promptly for diagnosis. SEAT recommends visiting an official SEAT dealership service department for this repair.
The turn signals do not flash
If the exterior turn signal lights fail to flash as a visual confirmation when you lock your vehicle:
- At least one passenger door or the rear luggage lid is not closed completely, or
- The engine bonnet is not fully latched shut.
The vehicle locks automatically
If one of the following conditions is met, your Seat Leon will re-lock itself automatically after approximately 45 seconds of inactivity.
- The vehicle has been unlocked via remote command, but none of the side doors or the rear luggage lid have been physically opened.
What happens when locking the vehicle with a second key
Any key left inside the vehicle cabin is electronically blocked and cannot be used to start the engine as soon as the vehicle is locked externally from the outside with a second valid key fob. To reactivate the key left inside the vehicle so that it allows you to switch on the ignition and start the engine, simply press any of its buttons.
Locking the vehicle after an airbag is triggered
When an airbag is deployed as a result of a physical collision or accident, your Seat Leon is fully unlocked automatically. Depending on the extent of the structural damage, the vehicle may be relocked after the accident occurrence as described in the steps below:
- Switch the engine ignition off completely.
- Open the driver's door and then close it firmly again.
- Lock the vehicle securely using your preferred locking method.
Note If the 12-volt vehicle battery has little to no charge remaining, or if the remote vehicle key fob battery is almost or entirely exhausted, you will probably not be able to lock or unlock your Seat Leon using the keyless access proximity system. In such cases, the vehicle can still be unlocked and locked manually using the physical emergency blade.
Note If there is no recognized vehicle key inside the passenger cabin or if the onboard system fails to detect one, a warning message will be displayed on the driver's instrument cluster screen. This situation could happen if another strong radio frequency signal source interferes with the key transmission signal or if the key is shielded by another object, such as a metal case or wallet.
