Seat Leon >> "Safe" security system
Depending on its specific trim equipment package, your Seat Leon may be fitted with the advanced "Safe" security system.
When the vehicle is locked, the "Safe" security system puts the exterior and interior door handles completely out of operation and hinders possible break-in or intrusion attempts by unauthorised people. The doors cannot be opened from the inside in this state.
The instrument cluster display may show a clear notification indicating that the "Safe" security system is currently switched on.
Disabling the "Safe" security system
The "Safe" security system can be temporarily disabled in any of the following straightforward ways:
- Press the vehicle remote key button
again within 2 seconds of locking. - Touch the exterior sensor touch surface on the outside of the door handle again within 2 seconds.
- Switch the engine ignition on using the start button.
- OR: deactivate interior cabin monitoring and the anti-tow protection system in the infotainment menu.
Depending on the equipment level, before locking the vehicle you can temporarily deactivate interior monitoring and the anti-tow sensor system within the Vehicle settings menu of the infotainment system.
When the "Safe" security system is deactivated, the following conditions need to be taken into account:
- The vehicle can be unlocked and opened from the inside using an interior door handle.
- The perimeter anti-theft alarm remains active.
- The interior monitoring system and the anti-tow protection system are disabled for that locking cycle.
"Safe" status
The flashing frequency of the warning diode in the driver's door sill immediately confirms the security process. Initially, the diode flashes in a fast sequence for a brief period, then it stops for approximately 30 seconds before finally continuing to flash slowly at regular intervals.
WARNING Using the "Safe" security system negligently or without paying due attention can cause serious safety hazards in the event of an emergency.
- Never leave anyone inside your Seat Leon when you lock it with the key in Safe mode. When the "Safe" security system is active, the doors cannot be opened from the inside under any circumstances!
