Removing
- Detach both holding cord loops ››› Fig. 178 B from their retaining hooks A on the rear lid.
- Unclip and release the rear parcel shelf from its side supports ››› Fig. 179 by pulling it firmly upward, then carefully lift it out of the vehicle.
If required, the removed parcel shelf can be stowed neatly beneath the variable double floor of your Seat Leon's luggage compartment.
Fitting
- Guide the rear cover horizontally into the cargo area so that its side recess slots locate cleanly over the support fittings ››› Fig. 179, then press down firmly until the pivots engage.
- Reattach both securing cord straps ››› Fig. 178 B onto the retaining hooks on the rear lid.
WARNING Carrying loose, unsecured cargo, heavy items, or pets on top of the rear parcel shelf creates an extreme risk of severe injury to occupants during sudden braking, sharp maneuvers, or collisions.
- Never leave hard, sharp, or heavy items unsecured on top of the rear shelf, whether loose or stored in bags.
- Never transport animals on the rear parcel shelf under any circumstances.
NOTICE
- Before closing the rear lid, always verify that the rear parcel shelf is properly seated in its side mounts and correctly aligned.
- Overloading the luggage compartment can prevent the rear shelf from resting in its proper position, causing it to bend, warp, or crack when the tailgate is closed.
- If bulky cargo prevents the rear shelf from sitting flat, remove the shelf before loading.
Note When placing lighter items such as coats or jackets on top of the rear shelf, ensure that rearward visibility through the back window is not obstructed.

- Remove the left and right side storage covers ››› Fig. 180.
- Slot the rear shelf flat into the corresponding lower housing channel ››› Fig. 181.

Removing the shelf

Fig. 184 In the luggage compartment: remove
the shelf.
- Push the release mechanism on the rear shelf side support ››› Fig. 184 1 in the direction of the arrow.
- Lift the retractable cassette assembly up and out of its side mounting bracket.
- The entire retractable blind cassette can be stowed beneath the variable luggage compartment floor, which must be placed in its upper position.
Fitting the shelf
- Position one end of the retractable shelf cassette into the receiving housing in either the left or right side trim.
- Compress and engage the support pin of the rear shelf cassette ››› Fig. 184 1 into the corresponding mounting housing on the opposite side.
- Check that both support pins are securely latched into their side mountings before use.
WARNING Unsecured objects, loose items, or animals placed on top of the extended retractable cover can be projected forward into the passenger cabin during sudden braking maneuvers or collisions, causing severe injuries.
- Never place hard, heavy, or sharp objects loose or in bags on top of the retractable roller cover.
- Never transport animals on top of the retractable cargo cover.
NOTICE To retract the roller cover, press down on its handle only; lifting or twisting the handle upward can break its end pivots and internal roller axles.

In non-PHEV Seat Leon Sportstourer models, the removed retractable shelf cassette can be stowed conveniently beneath the variable luggage compartment floor.
- Remove the left and right side covers from the cargo area side trim ››› Fig. 185 A.
- Compress the spring-loaded end head of the retractable shelf cassette in the direction of the arrow until it seats fully into its designated recess ››› Fig. 186, ensuring that slide guide A locates properly inside its matching housing groove.
- Refit the left and right side covers securely back into their original positions.
Variable luggage compartment floor
Variable floor in high position

Fig. 187 Variable luggage compartment floor:

- To transition the floor from the low position to the high position, lift the floor panel using the handle ››› Fig. 187 1, and pull it rearward until the front edge of the floor has fully cleared the side supports ››› Fig. 188 2.
- Slide the floor forward over the supports as far as the rear seat backrest, then lower the floor panel securely into place using handle 1.
Variable floor in low position

Fig. 188 Variable luggage compartment floor:

- To transition the floor from the high position to the low position, lift the floor panel using the handle ››› Fig. 187 1, and pull it back until the front edge of the floor has fully passed the side supports ››› Fig. 188 2.
- Allow the front section to drop downward toward the bottom of the trunk and slide the floor forward against the rear seat backrest; simultaneously lower the floor using handle 1.
Note SEAT recommends returning the variable cargo floor of your Seat Leon to the high position ››› Fig. 187 when maximum under-floor depth is no longer required.
Variable floor in the tilted position

Fig. 189 Variable luggage compartment floor:
tilted position.
When the variable luggage floor is secured in the tilted position, you gain easy access to the spare wheel well or the tire mobility kit area underneath.
- Lift the variable floor to the high position using handle ››› Fig. 187 1, pull it upward, and push it forward toward the backrest of the rear seats until it folds along its central hinge line, allowing the movable panel section to rest flat on itself.
- Engage and rest the folded floor securely onto its designated side housings ››› Fig. 189 (indicated by arrows).
WARNING
- Always secure stored cargo properly, even when the luggage compartment floor is lifted or tilted.
- Only objects that do not protrude higher than two-thirds of the floor height may be transported in the space between the rear seat backrest and the raised luggage compartment floor.
- Only items weighing no more than approximately 7.5 kg may be carried in the space between the rear seat backrest and the raised luggage compartment floor.
NOTICE
- The absolute maximum weight load that can be placed on the luggage compartment variable floor when in the top high position is 100 kg.
- Never let the luggage compartment floor drop freely when closing it. Always guide it downward in a slow, controlled manner to prevent cracking the trim panels or damaging the floor structure of your Seat Leon.
