Seat Leon >> Privacy mode
Introduction
Using the intuitive "Privacy" feature, you can control whether data transmissions between your vehicle systems and external internet servers are permitted or restricted.
Please bear in mind that your vehicle is connected to online services by default, enabling it to receive over-the-air remote system updates engineered to optimize performance and security.
Essential identifying data, such as your vehicle identification number (VIN), may be securely shared with the manufacturer to verify update compatibility and confirm successful software installation. Every update requires your explicit final authorization on screen before installation begins. If you prefer to block automated data exchange for these updates, you can easily select Incognito
(maximum privacy) mode within the privacy and services configuration settings.
You can set your preferred privacy level at any time by navigating through the menu: Users > Settings > Privacy and Services.
Data transmission originating from external paired devices—such as connected smartphones—and their communication pathways with the vehicle cannot be managed or blocked using the vehicle's "Privacy" setting.
Mandatory legal safety functions and their underlying telemetry transmissions—such as the automated Emergency Call System (eCall)—cannot be turned off, disconnected, or deactivated by the user.
Note Please be aware that any driver using the vehicle can adjust individual preferences within the "Privacy" settings menu.
As a result, active privacy settings set by temporary drivers may not always align with the preferred preferences of the vehicle owner.
Privacy and services settings
Individual SEAT CONNECT services can be toggled on and off independently. To adjust a feature, simply check or uncheck the corresponding selection box for the service you wish to configure. Alternatively, use the main privacy mode selector if you prefer to adjust or deactivate all connected online services at once.
