Seat Leon >> Driving abroad
The asymmetric light pattern of the dipped beam headlights is designed to illuminate the side of the road on which you are driving far more intensely.
When a car manufactured for countries with right-hand traffic is driven into a country with left-hand traffic (or vice versa), drivers traditionally had to place adhesive masking stickers over portions of the headlamp lenses or manually re-aim the headlight assemblies to prevent blinding oncoming traffic.
International road safety regulations define specific light intensity limits that must be observed at designated measurement points across the beam spread. This adjusted beam configuration is universally known as "Tourist light".
The advanced optical design and light distribution of the factory headlights on your Seat Leon fully comply with these required "tourist light" illumination limits out of the box, eliminating the need to apply masking stickers or adjust hardware settings when crossing borders.
Note Using "Tourist light" mode is intended purely for temporary trips abroad. If you plan an extended stay or permanently relocate to a country driving on the opposite side of the road, take your Seat Leon to an Authorised Technical Service to have the headlight units reconfigured or replaced accordingly.
Troubleshooting
Turn signal control lamp
The green directional indicator lamp flashes in sync on the instrument cluster screen during signaling.
If a turn signal bulb or LED module on the vehicle fails, the instrument cluster indicator light will flash at double speed to alert the driver.
1. Contact a specialised workshop to resolve the lighting fault. SEAT recommends visiting an authorized SEAT dealership for proper repairs.
Hazard warning lights active indicator.
Trailer turn signal indicator
control
lamp
The green control lamp illuminates whenever the turn signals are used while towing an attached trailer.
If a turn signal bulb on the connected trailer fails, this green control lamp stops flashing altogether during signaling rather than double-flashing like the vehicle indicator does.
Fault in external
lighting
The yellow bulb monitoring warning lamp illuminates on the dashboard instrument cluster.
This indicates a complete or partial electrical failure of one or more exterior lighting components on the vehicle.
1. Contact a specialized workshop promptly. SEAT recommends scheduling an appointment at an authorized SEAT dealer to diagnose and replace the faulty component.
