Seat Leon >> Turn signal and main beam lever

Seat Leon steering column left side stalk switch for turn signals and main beam headlamps
Fig. 105 Turn signal and main beam lever.

Move the steering column lever into the required position depending on your driving maneuver:

  1. Right turn signal indicator or right-hand side parking light (active when the engine ignition is switched off).
  2. Left turn signal indicator or left-hand side parking light (active when the ignition is switched off).
  3. Switching on the main beam headlights. The dedicated blue control warning lamp Seat Leon blue high beam indicator light symbol lights up clearly on the digital instrument cluster.
  4. The headlight flasher optical horn turns on whenever the stalk lever is pulled toward the steering wheel. The corresponding blue control indicator lamp Seat Leon headlight flasher indicator symbol lights up on the instrument cluster screen.

Return the lever back to its neutral resting position to turn off the corresponding indicator or high beam function.

Comfort turn signals

When the engine ignition is switched on, briefly tap and push the lever as far as possible upwards or downwards and then release it immediately. The turn signal indicator will flash automatically three times for lane changing.

To switch off the comfort turn signal sequence early, immediately tap the lever in the opposite direction until you feel the mechanical resistance point and then release it.

The convenient one-touch lane-changing comfort turn signals can also be enabled and disabled directly through the vehicle settings menu within the central infotainment system.

Parking light Seat Leon parking light symbol

The single-side parking lights will only function when the engine ignition is switched off. If a parking light is left active, an intermittent audible acoustic warning buzzer will sound whenever the driver's door is opened.

  • Switch the ignition off completely.
  • Move the turn signal stalk lever up or down into the corresponding indicator detent.

When the parking light mode is activated, the front side marker light and the rear tail light on that specific side of your Seat Leon illuminate to maintain visibility.

Parking light on both sides

  • Switch the engine ignition off.
  • Press the master light button Seat Leon lighting control panel button icon to select the continuous standing light mode Seat Leon standing parking light icon.
  • Lock the vehicle securely from the outside.

When this procedure is completed, the side marker lights of both headlamp assemblies, along with the rear tail light clusters, remain partially lit for parking safety.

WARNING Failing to use turn signals properly, omitting them entirely, or forgetting to switch them off promptly can severely confuse other road users and drivers. This could trigger an unexpected accident with serious consequences.

  • Always signal your intention well in advance when changing lanes, overtaking slower traffic, or executing turning maneuvers by activating the turn signals.
  • As soon as the lane change, overtaking pass, or turning maneuver is fully complete, make sure to switch off the turn signal stalk.

WARNING Improper or discourteous use of the high-beam headlights can cause sudden accidents and severe injuries, as it can dangerously distract and dazzle oncoming or preceding drivers.

Note

  • When you turn off the ignition without having cancelled an active turn signal stalk position, an acoustic warning signal sounds while the driver's door is open. It acts as a reminder to turn off the turn signals, unless you intentionally want to leave the single-side parking light on.
  • If the comfort turn signals are flashing (three flashes cycle) and you activate the comfort turn signal in the opposite direction, the active side stops flashing immediately and flashes just once on the newly selected side.
  • The directional turn signals only operate when the ignition is switched on. However, the hazard warning flashers remain operational even when the ignition is completely switched off.
  • The high-beam main beam can only be turned on when the primary dipped beam headlights are already switched on.
  • During cold, humid, or wet weather conditions, the outer headlamps, tail lights, and turn signal lenses may become temporarily fogged up from the inside. This natural phenomenon is normal and has zero effect on the operational service life or performance of the vehicle's lighting system.
  • The single-side parking light does not activate automatically if the left or right turn signal lever happens to be left engaged when the ignition is disconnected.
