Seat Leon >> Introduction
For optimal safety, extensive accident statistics consistently demonstrate that children under 12 years of age should always travel securely seated in the rear of your Seat Leon. Depending on their specific age, height, and weight, children traveling in the rear seats must be restrained using an approved child safety seat or an appropriate seat belt. For maximum protection, child restraint systems should always be installed in the rear seating positions, preferably behind the front passenger seat or on the central rear seat.
The laws of physics and the severe deceleration forces experienced during a collision apply equally to children. However, unlike fully grown adults, children's skeletal frames, muscles, and bone structures are still developing.
Consequently, children face a significantly higher risk of severe physical injury during accidents.
To mitigate these inherent risks, children must always be secured in specialized child restraint systems whenever traveling in the vehicle.
We strongly recommend utilizing certified child safety products available through the Genuine Accessories Catalogue, which offers tested restraint solutions tailored for every age group (consult www.seat.com for further details).
These specialized restraint systems have been specifically designed, rigorously tested, and officially approved to comply with the stringent UN ECE R129 (i-Size) regulatory standards.

You must also route the safety belt through the seat's "Secure-Guard" belt attachment point and adjust the integrated side impact protection system known as "SICT" (available on certain models), located on the outer edge of the child seat backrest.
Adjust only the "SICT" element that is positioned closest to the vehicle door. Always follow the child seat manufacturer's specific operation instructions.

Group 3 child seats can be utilized either with the complete backrest attached or using the seat base alone as a booster cushion. The full backrest version of the child seat features a dedicated adult seat belt guide and an adjustable headrest, meaning that the model with the backrest offers vastly superior protection compared to booster cushions without backrests. SEAT strongly recommends using child seats equipped with backrests.

Always follow the manufacturer's detailed installation instructions and comply with any statutory legal requirements when mounting and using child safety seats. Read and observe all safety guidelines carefully.
We recommend that you always keep the manufacturer's Child Seat Instruction Manual stored securely inside your Seat Leon alongside the main on-board documentation package.
