The driver's knee airbag is situated on the lower portion of the dashboard on the driver's side ››› Fig. 35. Its presence is marked by the embossed lettering "AIRBAG" on the trim panel cover (depending on vehicle equipment and trim level).

The dashed region (deployment area) ››› Fig. 36 is fully occupied by the inflating knee cushion when triggered during a severe frontal collision.

Objects must never be stored, attached, or mounted anywhere within this lower footwell zone.

WARNING

  • The knee airbag deploys directly in front of the driver's knees and shins. Always keep the active expansion path of the knee airbag completely free of clutter and obstructions.
  • Never attach objects, keychains, phone mounts, or trim accessories to the airbag cover housing or within the lower footwell deployment area.
  • Adjust the driver's seat position longitudinally to maintain a clear distance of at least 10 cm (4 inches) between your knees and the lower dashboard trim panel.

If your physical stature or medical condition prevents you from maintaining this minimum clearance distance, contact a specialized workshop for guidance on certified ergonomic adaptations.
