Passenger airbag deactivated indicator light on the overhead roof console Lights up on the roof console

Front passenger airbag is currently deactivated.

Verify whether the airbag status should remain deactivated based on your seating arrangement.

Passenger airbag activated indicator light on the overhead roof console Lights up on the roof console

Front passenger airbag is activated. This status control lamp turns off automatically 60 seconds after the ignition is switched on.

Several vital warning and control lamps illuminate for a few seconds every time the vehicle ignition is switched on, signaling that an automated self-diagnosis check is underway.

These diagnostic lamps will switch off after a few seconds of normal operation.

If the airbag and seat belt tensioner system control lamp Airbag system warning lamp icon remains illuminated or flashes continuously while driving, it signals a malfunction in the restraint network. Have the system checked immediately by a specialized technical workshop.

If the front passenger airbag has been manually deactivated, the warning lamp Passenger airbag deactivation warning lamp on roof console remains lit on the roof console to remind you of its status. If this lamp fails to stay lit when the passenger airbag is deactivated, or if it illuminates simultaneously with the master control lamp Master airbag warning lamp on instrument cluster on the instrument cluster, an internal fault exists within the airbag system. If the roof console lamp is flashing, it indicates a functional fault in the airbag deactivation switch mechanism. Have the system inspected immediately by a specialized workshop.

WARNING In the event of a fault in the airbag and seat belt tensioner system, the supplemental restraints and seat belts may fail to trigger correctly during a crash, fail entirely, or deploy unexpectedly.

  • Vehicle occupants face a high risk of sustaining severe or fatal injuries. Have the restraint system checked immediately by a qualified workshop.
  • Never install a child safety seat on the front passenger seat, and do not remove an already mounted child seat while this fault persists! The front passenger airbag could deploy unexpectedly during an accident despite the active system fault.

NOTICE Always pay close attention to any illuminated control lamps and review their corresponding descriptions and instructions to prevent mechanical vehicle damage or physical harm to vehicle occupants.
