Possible indications on the instrument cluster display

The digital instrument cluster on your Seat Leon is capable of presenting a wide array of driving metrics, warnings, and status indicators, dynamically superimposed based on the specific electronic equipment and trim package installed in your vehicle:

Doors, bonnet and rear lid open

Whenever the vehicle is unlocked or while you are driving, the instrument cluster display clearly shows if any of the side doors, the front bonnet, or the rear tailgate are open and improperly secured. In several of these situations, the visual alert is accompanied by an audible warning chime for added safety.

Selector lever positions

The current operating position of the transmission selector lever is displayed directly on the control module housing and on the instrument cluster screen. When the control is placed in the D/S position or shifted into manual Tiptronic mode, the specific gear currently engaged by the transmission is also shown on the dashboard display.

Outside temperature indicator

If the outside ambient temperature drops below approximately +4 ºC (+39 ºF), a dedicated "ice crystal symbol" illuminates alongside the outside temperature readout on your Seat Leon dashboard.

This frost warning symbol remains lit until the measured outside temperature rises above +6 ºC (+43 ºF).

Under certain operating conditions, the displayed outside temperature may read slightly higher than the actual ambient temperature due to engine bay heat radiation:

• When the vehicle is stationary in traffic
• When driving at very low speeds in congested areas

Gear-change recommendation

While driving your Seat Leon, the instrument cluster may suggest an optimal gear shift point to help you minimize fuel consumption and maintain efficient engine operation.

Odometer

The internal odometer accurately tracks and registers the total cumulative distance traveled by the car throughout its operational lifespan.

Speed warning for winter tyres

If your Seat Leon exceeds a predefined maximum speed threshold set for winter tyres, a clear notification appears on the digital instrument cluster display.

This winter tyre speed warning limit can be easily adjusted through the central infotainment system settings menu.

Compass indication

Depending on the vehicle equipment level, whenever the ignition is switched on, the instrument cluster display indicates your current driving heading using a directional symbol, such as NW for Northwest.

When the infotainment system is active and no active route guidance is currently running, a graphical compass representation is also displayed.

Low consumption driving

Depending on the equipment fitted, the indicator appears on the instrument cluster of your Seat Leon whenever the vehicle enters an ultra-low fuel consumption state due to active cylinder management (ACT) technology shutting down select cylinders.

WARNING Even when the outside temperature gauge reads higher than freezing point, certain shaded roads, elevated bridges, and overpasses can still develop black ice.

• The appearance of the "ice crystal symbol" serves as an active warning that there is a heightened risk of frost and freezing road conditions.
• At ambient temperatures above +4 ºC (+39 ºF), ice patches can still form on roadways even if the ice crystal warning symbol is not currently illuminated.
• The outside temperature sensor provides a guideline measurement rather than an absolute guarantee of road surface temperature.

• Because different instrument cluster variants exist across various models, specific screen layouts and text prompts on the display may vary. For clusters lacking warning or text message readouts, system anomalies are indicated exclusively through dedicated control warning lamps.
• Certain urgent notifications on the instrument cluster display can be momentarily concealed by sudden priority events, such as an incoming telephone call.
• Depending on the installed electronic equipment, several vehicle settings and operational instructions can be modified or viewed directly on the infotainment touchscreen as well.
• If multiple warning conditions occur simultaneously, the corresponding symbols appear sequentially for a few seconds each. The symbols stay active on the screen until the underlying cause is fully resolved.
• If warning alerts regarding existing electrical or mechanical faults appear upon switching on the ignition, modifying certain vehicle settings or accessing particular display menus might be temporarily restricted. In such instances, visit a specialized workshop to request professional diagnostics and repair.
