SEAT Leon (4th Generation, KL; 2020+) Owner’s Manual / Wheels and tyres / Changing a wheel / Introduction
Attempt to change a wheel on your Seat Leon yourself only if you are fully familiar with the required mechanical procedures and safety protocols, possess all necessary tools, and can park the vehicle in a secure location.
Preliminary actions
- Park your vehicle securely on a flat, level surface as far away from moving road traffic as possible.
- Engage the electronic parking brake firmly.
- Activate the hazard warning lights to alert oncoming motorists.
- For manual transmission models: engage 1st gear.
- For automatic transmission models: select the parking lock position P.
- If you are towing a trailer, unhitch it completely from your vehicle before starting any wheel change procedure.
- Retrieve and lay out the necessary on-board tool kit alongside the replacement wheel.
- Always comply with local roadside safety regulations and laws (such as wearing a high-visibility reflective vest, placing warning triangles, or setting up safety beacons).
- Instruct all vehicle occupants to exit the cabin immediately and wait safely away from the active traffic zone, such as behind a highway guardrail.
WARNING
- Always execute these preliminary steps meticulously to protect yourself, your passengers, and other road users from harm.
- If an unexpected roadside situation forces you to change a wheel on an incline or slope, securely block the wheel on the opposite side of the car with a heavy stone, chock, or wedge to prevent the vehicle from rolling unexpectedly.
