The intelligent SEAT Assistant in your Seat Leon operates in both online and offline modes, taking into account the specific language capabilities indicated in the section regarding regional market availability.

When operating in offline mode, the catalogue of available voice commands is somewhat restricted. To ensure a superior user experience and maximize functionality, it is advisable to use the online mode by activating the advanced online voice assistant through the My SEAT App, which equips the user with a much wider range of conversational voice controls. In addition, integrated ChatGPT capabilities are also available to answer open-ended questions.

The SEAT Assistant is designed to understand natural questions and conversational expressions without requiring you to memorize rigid, exact command syntax.

Commands can be formulated freely and spoken in a conversational, colloquial manner. For optimal system operation, it is recommended to always include a verb within your voice command phrase. Helpful command suggestions and prompt proposals can be found directly within the infotainment system menu under HOME > SEAT Assistant > Tips.

Loud ambient noise levels inside or outside the vehicle can cause voice recognition malfunctions, leading to confusing system phrases and incorrect answers.

Seat-dependent speech recognition

Thanks to strategically integrated additional microphones in the cabin, the SEAT Assistant can accurately recognize whether the person speaking is seated in the driver's seat or the front passenger seat. Consequently, in supported languages, you can execute seat-specific functions, such as independently turning on the left or right seat heating.

Languages available depending on the market

• Online and offline supported languages: German, American English, British English, French, Italian, Spanish, Mexican Spanish, Czech, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, Greek, Russian, and Turkish. These languages feature advanced capabilities such as online execution commands, climate control adjustments, natural conversational interaction, and more.
• Offline only supported language: Bulgarian.

  All other infotainment system languages support standard commands but do not include natural conversational interaction.

Requirements

• For offline operation: basic voice control functionality with the corresponding compatible infotainment system installed in the vehicle.
• For online and offline operation: advanced voice control with the corresponding infotainment system installed in your Seat Leon and an active, valid SEAT CONNECT contract.

Note

• The SEAT Assistant exclusively recognizes spoken commands delivered in the exact language currently set within the infotainment system menu.
• Test and explore the SEAT Assistant while your vehicle is safely stopped before setting off, allowing you to familiarize yourself with its operation without driving distractions.
• The SEAT Assistant can only control and manage vehicle functions that are actually present and available as part of your specific Seat Leon's equipment configuration.

Activation word and commands

Activation word for the SEAT Assistant

The SEAT Assistant wakes up and starts listening as soon as the infotainment system recognizes the pre-set activation word.

If you have triggered the SEAT Assistant via the activation word, the active infotainment unit will play a discrete audible confirmation tone as it listens to your query and display the animated assistant avatar right next to the teleprompter window.

• OR: immediately after speaking the activation word, state your desired command clearly, for example: say "Hola Hola" followed by "Switch on heating".

The system actively scans the words spoken inside the vehicle cabin immediately following the activation word and transcribes them onto the screen in real time.

Activate and deactivate the activation word

• Tap MENU > SEAT Assistant > Activation on your touchscreen.

The default activation word can be personalized or changed by the user using either the vehicle microphone setup or the touchscreen keypad.

Commands

To help the voice recognition system process your commands reliably:

• Pronounce words clearly. Ambiguous or confusing commands may not be recognized properly. Speak in a normal, natural tone of voice, raising your voice slightly if you are driving at high speeds on the highway.
• Minimize outside noises. Having open windows or doors can introduce wind rush and traffic noise that interferes with accurate voice control.
• Avoid competing background sounds, such as simultaneous conversations among passengers. Do not direct the active climate control air flow from dashboard vents directly toward the ceiling microphones or interior roof lining.
• Avoid making long, unnatural pauses while speaking your command sequence.

Open the command proposals

• Press MENU > SEAT Assistant to view helpful usage examples.

Note

• If the voice activation word function is turned off in the settings, the SEAT Assistant cannot be invoked via speech alone. However, the SEAT Assistant remains readily accessible at any time by pressing the dedicated button on the multifunction steering wheel. You can toggle the activation word on or off via MENU > SEAT Assistant > Activation.
• Overall feature availability depends strictly on regional market destination and vehicle equipment trim.

Starting and ending the SEAT Assistant

Depending on your vehicle's specific equipment trim, you can initiate voice control in your Seat Leon using various methods.

Starting the SEAT Assistant

• Activating the SEAT Assistant: simply speak the designated activation word aloud inside the cabin.
• Multifunction steering wheel: press the dedicated voice control button .

In certain situations, you can also launch the native voice assistant of a connected mobile smartphone by pressing and holding down the steering wheel voice control button.

Ending the SEAT Assistant manually

An active session of the SEAT Assistant can be terminated immediately by uttering the voice command "Cancel".

• Multifunction steering wheel: tap the voice control button once to dismiss the assistant.

The SEAT Assistant terminates automatically if you engage with other infotainment functions, if the parking assistance system activates, if an incoming phone call is received, or if there is an extended period of silence.
