The cooling system cannot be switched on or its operation is limited

If the air conditioning system on your Seat Leon cannot be switched on or fails to cool properly, this may be caused by the following conditions:

• The engine is not running.
• The interior ventilation blower fan is switched off.
• The dedicated air conditioner electrical fuse has blown.
• The outside ambient temperature drops below approximately 0ºC (+32ºF).
• The climate control compressor has been temporarily switched off because the engine coolant temperature has exceeded normal limits under heavy load.
• Another technical fault exists within the vehicle. Have the air conditioning system inspected by a specialized workshop.

Change the temperature unit (Climatronic)

You can change the temperature unit display between Celsius and Fahrenheit on the central Infotainment System screen by tapping the main function button > Settings > Units.

Water or water vapour under the vehicle

When humidity and ambient temperatures outside the vehicle are high, normal condensation can drip off the cooling system evaporator core and form a small puddle underneath the car. This is completely normal operating behavior and does not indicate a system leak!

Furthermore, when external humidity is high and ambient temperatures are low, condensation water may evaporate while the stationary climate control is running. In this situation, visible water vapor or steam may rise from beneath the vehicle floor. This is a normal physical reaction and does not mean your Seat Leon has sustained any damage.

Note Immediately after starting the engine, residual humidity remaining inside the air conditioning ductwork may briefly mist over the windscreen. Switch on the max defrost function without delay to clear the windscreen glass of condensation.
