Steering wheel position adjustment

Fig. 92 Lever in the lower left side of the
steering column.
Always adjust the position of your Seat Leon steering wheel before starting your trip and strictly only when the vehicle is completely stationary.
- Pull the locking adjustment lever ››› Fig. 92 1 down firmly, move the steering wheel to your desired height and reach position, and then push the lever back up completely until it locks securely into place.
WARNING Improper use of the steering wheel adjustment mechanism and an incorrect ergonomic adjustment of the steering wheel can result in severe or fatal injury during an accident.
- After adjusting the steering column position, always push the locking lever ››› Fig. 92 1 firmly upwards so that the steering wheel does not accidentally slip or change position while driving.
- Never attempt to adjust the steering wheel while the vehicle is in motion. If you urgently need to adjust the steering wheel while traveling, pull over and stop safely before making the proper adjustment.
- The properly adjusted steering wheel should be angled pointing towards your chest and not directly at your face, so as not to hinder the deployment path and protection of the driver's front airbag in the event of a collision.
- When driving your Seat Leon, always hold the steering wheel firmly with both hands positioned on the outside rim at the 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock positions to minimize arm injuries when the driver's front airbag rapidly deploys.
- Never hold the steering wheel at the top 12
o'clock position or cross-armed in any other incorrect manner (e.g.
with your hands resting inside the centre of the steering wheel hub). In such improper cases, if the driver's airbag triggers, you may sustain severe fractures or injuries to your arms, hands, face, and head.
