Control and warning lamps
The warning and control lights integrated into your Seat Leon digital instrument panel can illuminate individually or in combination to serve as vital alerts, indicate the presence of a mechanical anomaly, or signal the active engagement of specific vehicle functions during operation.
Several of these indicator lamps illuminate automatically when the ignition is switched on and must switch off after a brief self-diagnostic period.
Depending on the specific trim level and software version of your Seat Leon, additional text messages may appear directly on the instrument panel display, providing purely informative details or advising you of necessary operational actions.
Warning with priority 1:
- The red central warning lamp lights up or flashes, accompanied by acoustic alerts or descriptive symbols.
Stop driving! Danger! Check the faulty function immediately and seek professional assistance as soon as possible.
Warning with priority 2:
- The yellow central warning lamp lights up or flashes, accompanied by warning chimes or advisory icons. Operating faults or depleted fluid levels can cause mechanical damage or system failure in your Seat Leon. Check the affected function promptly and, if necessary, contact an authorized service workshop immediately.
SEAT recommends visiting an Official SEAT Service for professional diagnosis and repair.
Lamps with other colours:
- Green, blue, white and grey: Operational status and general information regarding auxiliary vehicle systems.
Depending upon the equipment and electronic architecture fitted in your Seat Leon, a dedicated symbol may appear on the instrument cluster display instead of a standard warning lamp.
The specific control lamps that illuminate on the main light switch assembly are explained in detail in the dedicated chapter covering vehicle lighting.
WARNING Disregarding active warning lamps and text messages can lead to unexpected vehicle faults, sudden stalling in moving traffic, severe road accidents, and serious physical injuries.
- Never ignore active warning lamps or instrument panel text alerts.
- Stop the vehicle safely as soon as traffic conditions permit.
Note When multiple warnings occur simultaneously, the corresponding symbols illuminate in sequence for a few seconds and remain lit until the underlying cause is fully resolved.
If warning messages regarding existing faults appear upon switching on the ignition, modifying certain vehicle settings or accessing specific information displays might be temporarily restricted. If the fault persists, consult a specialized workshop without delay.
