removing

  • Switch off ignition and all electrical equipment.

Vehicles without access and start authorisation system

  • Remove ignition key, if fitted.

Vehicles with access and start authorisation system

  • Store ignition key outside the vehicle to prevent the ignition from being switched on unintentionally.

Continued for all vehicles

  • Removing lower interior tailgate panel .
  • Unlock and remove the connectors -1- , -4- and -5- of the Frequency filter for the amplitude modulation (AM) - R177- -2-.
  • Unscrew bolt -3- and remove Frequency filter for the amplitude modulation (AM) - R177- -2- from rear lid.

fitting

Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence.

Communication

Removing and installing frequency modulation (FM) frequency filter R178 / R179

Note Removal and installation of frequency modulation (FM) frequency filter in negative wiring - R178- are described for the left side. Removal and installation of frequency modulation (FM) frequency filter in positive wiring - R179- for the right side are carried out in the same way.

Special tools and workshop equipment required

  • Release lever - U30800-

  • Switch off ignition and all electrical equipment.

Vehicles without access and start authorisation system

  • Remove ignition key, if fitted.

Vehicles with access and start authorisation system

  • Store ignition key outside the vehicle to prevent the ignition from being switched on unintentionally.

Continued for all vehicles

  • Remove the top tailgate trim.
  • Unlock and remove the connectors -1- and -3- of the Frequency modulation (FM) frequency modulation in negative wire - R178- -2-.
  • Removing the frequency modulation (FM) frequency filter in negative wire - R178- -1- using the wedge - U30800- .

fitting

Installation takes place in reverse order.
