Seat Leon >> Vehicle sound
✓ Valid for: hybrid vehicles
The electric drive system in your plug-in hybrid Seat Leon operates with exceptional silence, producing far less operational noise than a conventional combustion engine. To ensure pedestrians, cyclists, and other vulnerable road users can hear the car approaching at low speeds, versions built for specific countries feature an integrated acoustic vehicle alerting system (AVAS) that generates an artificial sound. As driving speed increases and normal road noise from the tyres and wind becomes more pronounced, this synthetic sound automatically fades out.
WARNING While driving in pure electric mode, the auditory presence of your Seat Leon is significantly reduced. Pedestrians and other road users may not hear your vehicle approaching, which poses a severe risk in traffic-calmed zones, residential streets, car parks, or when reversing and manoeuvring at low speeds. Accident hazard!
Troubleshooting
✓ Valid for: hybrid vehicles
Drive: Fault! Stop the vehicle safely
The warning lamp lights up red.
A critical fault has been detected within the high-voltage drive system of your Seat Leon.
The vehicle's electric drive system is no longer available to power the car.
Pull over and park the vehicle in a safe location away from traffic as soon as possible. Switch off the ignition immediately and seek authorized professional assistance.
Drive: Fault! The electric drive is not working properly. Visit a workshop
The warning lamp lights up yellow.
A malfunction has occurred within the hybrid drive control system.
Drive cautiously and at a moderate speed directly to a specialized SEAT workshop to have the drive system inspected and repaired.
Drive: Warning! Power is limited. Check the manual
The warning lamp lights up yellow.
Available drive performance is temporarily reduced. The high-voltage battery may not have sufficient charge remaining, or its internal temperature may have dropped outside normal operating limits, such as during exposure to extremely cold weather.
Vehicle sound: Fault! Pedestrians cannot hear the vehicle. Visit a workshop
The warning lamp lights up yellow.
A fault has been detected in the artificial vehicle sound generator system. Drive your Seat Leon with heightened vigilance, as nearby pedestrians and cyclists will not be alerted by the external sound module. Proceed promptly to a specialized workshop to rectify the issue.
System power limited
The warning lamp lights up yellow.
A descriptive warning message accompanied by an audible warning signal is displayed on the instrument cluster screen.
Total system power output is restricted because the petrol combustion engine cannot be started or engaged.
- The exact level of available drive power can be monitored directly on the power gauge within the instrument cluster.
- If the combustion engine is unavailable because the fuel tank is completely empty, refuel as soon as possible. If the high-voltage battery charge also runs out while the combustion engine cannot run, your Seat Leon will become completely immobilised.
As soon as the combustion engine becomes available for use again, the warning light on the instrument cluster display will automatically turn off.
Electric Mode is not available
The indicator lamp lights up in white.
Pure Electric mode cannot be selected or engaged temporarily because one or more essential operating prerequisites (such as battery temperature, minimum charge level, or vehicle speed) are currently not met.
- Ensure all required operating parameters for Electric mode are satisfied before re-engaging the mode via the infotainment system.
