Seat Leon >> Introduction

The optional auxiliary fuel-powered heater draws fuel directly from the main vehicle tank and can be operated both while driving on the road and when your Seat Leon is parked with the engine off.

You can configure and operate the auxiliary heater through the dedicated auxiliary heating menu in the central Infotainment system, remotely via the My SEAT App on your smartphone, or using the wireless remote control key.

During winter conditions, running the auxiliary heater prior to setting off allows you to clear fogged glass and melt light layers of ice and snow off the windscreen before you start driving.

Conversely, when summer ambient temperatures are high, you can run the auxiliary system with the engine turned off to circulate ambient air and ventilate the cabin interior.

The maximum continuous operating period for stationary parking ventilation or auxiliary heating is capped at 60 minutes.

WARNING The exhaust gases emitted by the auxiliary fuel heater contain carbon monoxide—a deadly, colorless, and odorless poisonous gas. Inhaling carbon monoxide can lead to rapid loss of consciousness and fatal asphyxiation.

  • Never switch on the auxiliary heater or allow it to run in enclosed spaces such as garages, workshops, or unventilated parking areas.
  • Never schedule or program the auxiliary heater timer to activate in an enclosed or unventilated area.
  • Always switch off the auxiliary heater completely before refuelling at a service station.

WARNING The burner components and exhaust pipe of the auxiliary heater reach extremely high operating temperatures and can trigger a fire hazard.

  • Always park your Seat Leon so that no hot section of the auxiliary exhaust system comes into direct contact with flammable materials underneath the car, such as dry grass, leaves, or spilled fuel.

NOTICE Never store or position food items, medical supplies, or temperature-sensitive goods close to the dashboard air vents. Cold or hot air blowing directly from the vents can ruin perishable food, damage medications, or degrade sensitive materials.
